UL® 1/2 HOUR FIRE RATING
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 1/2 hour to 1550° F. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the contents.
UL® 1 HOUR FIRE RATING
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 1 hour to 1700° F. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the paper contents.
UL® 2 HOUR FIRE RATING
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 2 hour to 1850° F. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the paper contents.
1/2 HOUR FIRE RATING
Tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 1/2 hour.
1 HOUR FIRE RATING
Tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 1 hour.
2 HOUR FIRE RATING
Tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350° F when exposed to a fire for 2 hour.
B-RATED
A B-rated safe’s walls are less than 1/2" thick, and its doors are less than 1" inch thick. A B-rated safe earns its rating with the presence of a locking device. Typically, lock work and re-locks are examined when choosing a B-rated safe.
C-Rated
C-Rate safes have steel walls that are at least 1/2” thick and doors that are at least 1” thick, as well as a lock.

Underwriters Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 125° F when exposed to a fire for 1 hour to 1700° F. The interior of the unit will have a humidity level of less than 80%. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the contents.
UL® 2 HOUR 125 MEDIA RATINGS
Underwriters Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 125° F when exposed to a fire for 2 hour to 1850° F. The interior of the unit will have a humidity level of less than 80%. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the contents.
UL® 3 HOUR 125 MEDIA RATINGS
Underwriters Laboratories® (UL®) tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 125° F when exposed to a fire for 3 hour to 1925° F. The interior of the unit will have a humidity level of less than 80%. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the contents.
ETL ELECTRONIC MEDIA - 30 MIN
Intertek test for fire tested for 30 minutes up to 1550° F. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidence by the usability of the electronic media.
ETL WATER RESISTANT
Unit is protected when exposed to sprinkler spray. Examinations are made as to the moisture content within the unit.
WATER RESISTANT
Designed to prevent water damage resulting from sprinklers and fire hoses.
UL® 30 FOOT IMPACT RATINGS
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) tested immediately following the fire test, the unit is removed from the furnace and dropped 30' onto a riprap of brick on a heavy concrete base. The unit is then inverted and reheated for at least 30 minutes to 1550° F or more.
2000° EXPLOSION HAZARD RATINGS
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) tested. The oven is heated to 2000° F, the unit is placed in the heated oven and kept in for at least 30 minutes. Examinations are to be made as to the heat insulating properties of the sample as evidenced by the usability of the paper contents.
UL® HIGH SECURITY KEYLOCK
Underwriter Laboratories® (UL®) listed to resist picking and drilling, and keys cannot be duplicated except through FireKing. This means access to your vital records is limited to authorized key holders only.
UL® RSC BURGLARY RATING
A Residential Security Container (RSC) is tested to withstand five full minutes of rigorous prying, drilling, punching, chiseling, and tampering attacks by UL technicians.
